Glenn County Fair Cancelled Due to COVID-19 Concerns
ORLAND, CA. - The 2020 Glenn County Fair will not be held this year. The annual community event, planned for May 14-17, has been cancelled due to concerns over the coronavirus pandemic and community spread of the disease. Fair time should always be a time of fun and never a time of fear.
The Glenn County Fair Board of Directors and Fair Management have been carefully monitoring the situation and working with our local and State government officials. The health and safety of our Fair Staff, volunteers and patrons is our utmost priority.
The decision to cancel was made by the Board of Directors on Wednesday night during an Emergency Board Meeting, in accordance with guidelines set forth by the Center for Disease Control and State of California’s recommendations to stay at home. This is a difficult time for all of us and we realize the economic impact this has on the fair industry, our partners, exhibitors, friends and community.
An Ad-Hoc Livestock Committee is being formed to explore options relating to an online sale. More information regarding this will be released as it becomes available.
The Fair Staff will be working on refunds and will be in touch over the next couple of weeks. Please be patient as the Fair Office is currently closed to the public. If you have a specific question please email email@example.com and we will get back to you.
Please continue to practice social distancing to help mitigate the spread of the disease and keep our Glenn County community safe. We will look forward to celebrating with you all when this is over, May 20 – 23, 2021.
